Greater Omaha Economic Development Partnership

The Minority Economic Development Council (MEDC) supports and promotes activities that increase the growth of business, economic and community development, as well as employment opportunities in the minority community.  It also serves as a portal to business development services.

Minority Economic Development
The MEDC works with various organizations throughout the region to spur economic development in underserved areas. Some of these efforts include:
  • Retention - Assist existing minority-owned firms in sustaining long-term growth
  • Business Development – Design programming focused on training, technical assistance and other resources to minority firms
  • Attraction – Identify and recruit minority-owned firms to establish a presence in Greater Omaha
  • Communications & Outreach - Communicate the progress of MEDC and local minority-owned firms

The MEDC also encourages minority business ownership and assists in these efforts with a broad range of services designed to provide business owners and entrepreneurs with the demographic information they need to start and expand their businesses.

Community Resources
