midwest franchise seminar slated for nov. 12

Omaha, Neb., Aug. 18, 2010 – The Greater Omaha Economic Development Partnership (Partnership) recently announced that the Midwest Franchise Seminar will be held in Omaha on Friday, Nov. 12, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, College of Business Administration, Mammel Hall, 6708 Pine St. This daylong event will provide the opportunity for franchisees, franchisors and anyone interested in a franchise business to come together in an educational and networking environment to discuss franchise trends and opportunities in the Midwest.

The seminar will include two tracks of sessions that focus on potential franchisees and those wishing to franchise their existing business concepts. Franchisors, brokers and other franchise-related vendors can display exhibits for attendees to gain further insight on franchise-related products and services.

Session topics will cover such topics as how to select and develop a franchise, financial considerations, marketing, legal aspects, real estate issues, developing and protecting intellectual property, and more.

"The Midwest Franchise Seminar is going to be an outstanding venue for both entrepreneurs and franchisors looking for new or expanded business opportunities," said Winsley Durand, director of minority economic and retail development for the Partnership. "The quality of the sessions and speakers for this event make the Midwest Franchise Seminar a 'must attend' event."

The cost to attend is just $100 per person. The price includes daylong education and networking opportunities, continental breakfast, lunch and admission to the trade fair and reception. The price will increase to $135 per person on Friday, Oct. 29. Exhibitor packages are available for $300, $500 and $1,000.
