chamber hosts signing ceremony in support of guard and reserves 


Omaha, Neb., Sept. 2, 2010 – Business and city leaders and representatives from the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) today joined forces at the Greater Omaha Chamber for a signing ceremony acknowledging their support of the National Guard and Reserves.

ESGR is a Department of Defense agency that seeks to promote a culture in which all American employers support and value the military service of their employees.

Participating in the show of support were

  • Maj. Gen. Walt Zink, Nebraska chairman of the ESGR
  • James G. Rebholz, national chairman, National Committee for ESGR
  • Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle
  • Gary Gates, president and CEO, Omaha Public Power District and 2010 chairman of the Greater Omaha Chamber’s board of directors
  • David G. Brown, president and CEO, Greater Omaha Chamber
  • Mary Ann O’Brien, president of OBI Creative and chair of the Chamber’s small business council
  • Representatives from branches of Guard and Reserve forces in Omaha
